LIFFE
The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) was first established in September 1982 to trade in financial futures . Ten years later it took over the London Traded Options Market.
Now owned by Paris-based Euronext, LIFFE is the world's largest financial futures market outside of Chicago.
LIFFE trades futures contracts in several government bonds , including Gilts .
It also trades FTSE index futures as well as currency futures contracts.
