Gold Credit Cards
Our Online Card Buys *
Credit card issuers will tell you that gold credit cards are the best credit cards to have - a status symbol that says something about you. In reality, all it says is that you are probably earning more than the national average wage and that the issuer has decided you are a better than average credit risk.
Gold credit cards are likely to be suitable if you are aged 25 or over, have an annual income of £25,000 or more, and have an excellent credit history. Gold credit cards tend to have a higher credit limit than ordinary credit cards and, should you wish to do so, will allow you to draw more cash out on a daily basis.
However, there may well be some advantages to having gold credit cards in the shape of the various extras, such as insurances, which usually come free with the card. Of course, these policies are not really "free", you may be paying for them through a larger annual fee or even a higher rate of interest.
Most of the credit card issuers now market gold credit cards alongside their ordinary cards. While gold credit cards were once a sign of exclusivity, they are little more than a marketing gimmick now. In fact, the interest rates on gold credit cards may not be as competitive as the interest rates available elsewhere.
