The Post Office Mastercard is funded by the Bank of Ireland. It offers 0% on balance transfers for the first 10 months - although, as is typical of today's market, a 2.75% balance transfer fee applies.

One of the real bonuses during and beyond the initial interest-free offer is an extension of the Post Office's over-the-counter commission-free currency policy. In a similar fashion, Post Office credit card customers also pay 0% commission on purchases abroad - perfect for weeks in the summer spent abroad.

Other benefits of Post Office credit cards include a year-round helpline, free purchase and fraud protection and the fact the card-holders can make repayments in three ways - by phone, in a Post Office branch or by direct debit.
